Johannesburg is South Africa's biggest city and capital of Gauteng province. We prefer to keep our guests near the airport and not in the city due to safety concerns. It is very easy to travel from Johannesburg to Pilanesberg or Sun city. We recommend enjoying walking with the Lion tour at Lions Park or enjoy Gold Reef City amusement park.
Pilanesberg National park is located just 2 - 2.5 hrs drive from Johannesburg city. As it is very convenient to reach this park from Johannesburg, it is very popular among international tourists who wish to have a glimpse of wildlife but have limited time. Pilanesberg National Park is approx 55000 hectares in the area and is almost 40 times smaller than Kruger. But for first-time wildlife seekers who are mainly interested in "Big Five" animals, this is the value for money and practical option. Bakubung lodge is the most preferred lodge in Pilanesberg which is located on the border of the National park and can be reached from Sun city resort complex in just 30 mins.
Knysna lies in the heart of the garden route. Most famous landmark of Knysna is Knysna heads. This is not just a natural marvel but also a home of a southern right whale. Take a sun set cruise on Knysna lagoon and then spending time at waterfront area to enjoy the local culture of Knysna. Your Tsitsikamma adventure starts with a visit to the Big Tree, a yellowwood giant just 10 minutes walk from the main road in the spectacularly beautiful indigenous forest. The tree is ±800 years old, 36.6 metres high with a circumference of almost 9 metres. The Tsitsikamma area is known for its adrenalin activities and your next adventure is a canopy tour or zip line tour. The tour starts with a scenic drive through George and over the Outeniqua Mountains past Oudtshoorn to the Cango Caves, one of the worlds great natural wonders sculptured by nature through the ages - a series of dripstone caverns that open into vast halls of towering stalagmite formations This is followed by a fascinating visit to an ostrich farm, where you can stand on an egg and even ride an ostrich!
After a delicious lunch (own account) at award-winning Jemimas Restaurant in Oudtshoorn, its on to Cango Wildlife Ranch, a breeding facility for endangered species - here you can touch a cheetah, enjoy the closeness of a tiger cub or wrap yourself in a python! Today check out and continue your journey to Cape Town. Drive over the Robbinson pass towards Mossel Bay. Depart to Mossel Bay, a harbour town on the Garden Route. It’s known for the wide Santos Beach and the 19th-century Cape St. Blaize Lighthouse, which offers bay views. The Bartolomeu Dias Museum Complex includes the Maritime Museum, the Shell Museum and botanical gardens. The Post Office Tree, a milkwood tree in the complex, has been used as a mail collection point since the 1500s Lunch in Mossel bay at a local restaurant on the beach (lunch for own account). Ascend Signal Hill and enjoy a spectacular views of the city, Cape Town Stadium and the whole of Table Bay.
We continue to Table Mountain cable station. You have the option of admiring the views from the lower cable station or you can purchase your ticket to reach the summit (weather permitting). After enjoying spectacular views with your guide, you will be returned to your hotel, or you can stay on top of the mountain and make your own arrangements to return to your hotel.
Today proceed to full day tour of Cape point. You shall drive along the scenic Atlantic seaboard coastal road and shall pass through the pristine beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay. Then proceed to lively town of Hout Bay harbor where you shall find plenty of shops and restaurants along the pristine beach. Take a cruise to Seals island to admire the seals that inhabit this island. Then we shall drive past the Chapman’s Peak and arrive at Cape Point. Enjoy Flying Dutchman funicular ride to the top mountain to have a mesmerising view of the ocean. Visit Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, home to ‘fynbos’ and wild animals like Cape Mountain Zebra, baboons and several species of buck and birds. Then relax and have a lunch break (own account) and then proceed to Boulders Beach to see the African penguins. Drive through Simons Town and see False Bay and the Indian Ocean.
