Aberdares

Aberdares are the third-highest and 160 km long mountain range in North of Nairobi city at a driving distance of 3-4 hrs. The average elevation of this mountain range is 3500 meters and the highest peak is 4000 meters. This range is heavily forested and offers excellent wildlife of high altitude forest. Elephants and buffalos are in plenty in these forests and you shall find various birds and wild animals. We suggest spending 1 or two nights in this highland as you shall experience different ecosystem here. We recommend staying one night in The Ark Lodge which is on the slopes of the mountain Mweiga and then spend one night in a highland lodge such as Aberdare country club.

Masai Mara

Masai Mara is Africa's greatest wildlife reserves. This is spread across an area of 1510 sq kilometres and located southwest of Kenya. This National reserve shares its border with Serengeti National Reserve in Tanzania.  This is famous for a wide variety of wildlife such as African Elephants, Lions, Rhinos, Buffalos, Cheetahs, Zebras, Wildebeests, Giraffes and many more birds and animals. This is a year-round destination and animal migration is an event to be experienced which generally happens in the months of July, August and September. Animal migration is a unique phenomenon that happens in the clockwise circular path between Masai Mara and Serengeti. Nairobi is 270 km away and it takes 4-5 hrs to reach Masai Mara by road. Flights are also available which takes 40-50 mins. Other than game drives and safaris, one can enjoy hot air balloon rides, champagne breakfast and visits to Masai villages.
The climate in Masai Mara is pleasantly warm. This part of Kenya is located on the southern side of the Equator and has an altitude of 1500-1900 meter. Therefore temp is comfortable during the daytime and nights are cooler. October to March are slightly warmer, while June to August is cooler months. The wettest month is April, the driest is July.
