Nainital is a Hill station in Kumaon region of Uttarakhand which is famous for Naini Lake and natural beauty. Nainital is 270kms away from Deharadun airport and 310kms away from Delhi. Nainital has many lakes in its vicinity such as Bhimtal, Sattal, Naukuchiatal. Cable car ride from Mallital offers an excellent view of the Naini Lake and surrounding mountain ranges. Apart from the 500m broad and 2.4km long Naini Lake, Nainital is famous for its educational institutions and the Boat Club in Mallital on the northern end of the lake.
Rishikesh is a Yoga capital of the world. It is located on the foothills of the Himalayas and this is a starting point for Chardham yatra to Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri and Gangotri. It has many ashrams on the banks of the Ganga river which are world known for their spiritual and Yoga studies. Rishikesh offers excellent weather throughout the year. Ganga river slows down here a bit and is not as wide as it gets in Haridwar. Ganga river has much colder waters even in summers and offers excellent white water rafting sites. Laxman Jhula, Geeta Bhavan, Parmarth Niketan Ashram are of interest to many pilgrims. This is just 50 km to Dehradun and 20 km to Haridwar.
At an Altitude of 2800 Mt above sea level, Auli is the coldest town in Uttarakhand. This mountain village is famous for its ski slopes and natural vistas. You can have spectacular views of Nanda Devi, Mana Parvat and Kamat Kamet peaks from Auli. Ski schools, Cable car ride from Joshimath to Auli and trekking trails are the main attractions of Auli.
Rishikesh is a starting point for many hill stations in Uttarakhand. Rishikesh to Auli, Rishikesh to Mussoorie and Rishikesh to Nainital and main routes. You need to split your stay at Rishikesh and distances from Rishikesh to Auli is more than 10 hrs, Rishikesh to Nainital is also more than 10 hrs. We suggest Rishikesh as a place for stay instead of Haridwar ro Dehradun due to its scenic setting.
Kanatal is very near to Mussoorie just 45 km away. But at the same time, it is not a typical touristy place. At an altitude of 2590 Mts Kanatal offers excellent weather, snowfall during winter months and lot many trekking options. Do not miss Surkhanda Devi temple which is just 2 km from the village. Small stroll along the thick Kodia jungle is highly recommended. Jungle safari by local jeet is must-do sightseeing. You may also visit Tehri dam, Dhanaulti and Chamba town.
Mussoorie is just 35 km away from the state capital of Dehradun. This is a famous hill station and romantic honeymoon destination in India. Nainital and Mussoorie are famous as honeymoon destination in Uttarakhand. At an altitude of 2005 Mts, Mussoorie offers excellent views of the Shivalik ranges and Doon valley. Major attractions are Kempty falls, cable car and Gun hill viewpoint, Clouds end and Happy valley. The Mall road is the centre of attraction where every tourist strolls in the evening. Visit Surkhanda temple and take a walk through Kodia Jungle, which is a dense forest area located at a distance of around one kilometre away from Kanatal. You can spot a few wild animals by taking a ride through the jungle in a jeep, and you can also see Tehri Dam and many natural springs that are quite prevalent in the region.
