Srinagar is the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir and also known as heaven on earth. This beautiful city is located on the Jhelum River and is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and dotted with lakes and gardens. Main attractions in Srinagar are Shalimar Garden, Nishal Baug, Chashme Shahi, Tulip garden, Nehru garden, Dal lake, Nigeen lake, Shankaracharya temple, Char Chinar, floating market and many more. Srinagar is well connected by flights to all parts of India and it is connected by road to Jammu which is approx 280 km away.

Upon arrival meeting and assistance at Srinagar Airport and then transfer to Houseboat or hotel as per your choice. Free time to Relax. Then proceed to visit famous Mughal Gardens - Nishat Bagh and Shalimar Bagh. Nishat Bagh (Abode of pleasure) was built by Asif Khan, brother of Empress Noorjehan in 1632 AD. Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love) was built by Jehangir for his wife Noor Jehan. Situated on the bank of Dal Lake, these gardens are overlooked by picturesque Zabarwan Mountains. Overnight at Srinagar.
After breakfast proceed for a full-day excursion to Sonmarg. Sonmarg is surrounded by mountains and pine forests. There are attractive walks and option of pony ride to the Thajiwas glacier. Thajiwas is located after a short and interesting walk from Sonmarg. The miniature plateaus, snowfields, pines and islets add to the charm of Thajiwas. The Drive to Sonmarg is through the Sindh Valley which presents another facet of the countryside in Kashmir and has snowy mountains in its backdrop. Sonmarg is the main base for the treks that passes along several mountain lakes like the Vishansar, Kishansar, Gadsar, Satsar and Gangabal. Sonmarg is also the major point for the drive to Ladakh across the Zoji La pass. The Sindh River that meanders through the valley abounds with trout and mahseer. Ponies can be hired for the trip up to Thajiwas glacier, which is a major local attraction during the summer months. Evening return to Srinagar. Overnight at Srinagar.
After breakfast proceed to Gulmarg (Meadows of Flowers) 2730 Mt above the sea level. Gulmarg has one of the best ski slopes in the world and highest golf course with 18 holes. If weather permits one can also have the view of Nanga Parbat mountain. Enjoy cable car ride to Kongdoori and then up to Affarwat peak on direct payment basis. In the evening drive back to Srinagar. Overnight at Srinagar.
The vehicle is allowed to drop at the main Gulmarg or at your hotel and from there onwards one has to walk or can go by ponies on direct payment for local sightseeing in Gulmarg. During heavy snowfall, there will be a change of the vehicle in Tangmarg which is about 14 km before Gulmarg. Snow jeeps or chained vehicles will be used from there up to Gulmarg and back for which the clients have to pay directly an additional amount of approx. INR: 1800 - 2000/- for a return trip.
After breakfast drive to Pahalgam (The valley of shepherds). En-route, visiting the saffron fields of pampore, Awantipura Ruins (1100 years old temple of Lord Vishnu built by the King Awantivarman), and enjoy the beautiful countryside. Drive throught the pine forests. Arrive at Pahalgam and enjoy Lidder stream. Later walk along pony trails with a magnificent view of the mountains. Evening return to Srinagar. Overnight at Srinagar.
Sightseeing of Chandanwadi, Betaab Valley, Baisaran Valley and Aru Valley is not included as you need to hire a local taxi directly from Pahalgam taxi union office.
Today enjoy Srinagar and its surrounding area. Visit Mughal gardens such as Shalimar Baug and Nishat Baug, Tulip gardens and Nehru garden. Visit Chashme Shahi and Shankaracharya Mandir and then take a Shikara ride to visit char chinar and floating market on a direct payment basis. Rest of the day is free to explore Srinagar on your own.
