Rishikesh is a Yoga capital of the world. It is located on the foothills of the Himalayas and this is a starting point for Chardham yatra to Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri and Gangotri. It has many ashrams on the banks of the Ganga river which are world known for their spiritual and Yoga studies. Rishikesh offers excellent weather throughout the year. Ganga river slows down here a bit and is not as wide as it gets in Haridwar. Ganga river has much colder waters even in summers and offers excellent white water rafting sites. Laxman Jhula, Geeta Bhavan, Parmarth Niketan Ashram are of interest to many pilgrims. This is just 50 km to Dehradun and 20 km to Haridwar.
At an Altitude of 2800 Mt above sea level, Auli is the coldest town in Uttarakhand. This mountain village is famous for its ski slopes and natural vistas. You can have spectacular views of Nanda Devi, Mana Parvat and Kamat Kamet peaks from Auli. Ski schools, Cable car ride from Joshimath to Auli and trekking trails are the main attractions of Auli.
Rishikesh is a starting point for many hill stations in Uttarakhand. Rishikesh to Auli, Rishikesh to Mussoorie and Rishikesh to Nainital and main routes. You need to split your stay at Rishikesh and distances from Rishikesh to Auli is more than 10 hrs, Rishikesh to Nainital is also more than 10 hrs. We suggest Rishikesh as a place for stay instead of Haridwar ro Dehradun due to its scenic setting.

Arrive at Delhi or Dehradun airport and proceed to Rishikesh. Rishikesh is just 50 km away from Dehradun but from Delhi, it is approx 7 hrs journey. Therefore arrive at Delhi by morning flight so that you shall get time to relax at Rishikesh. If time permits visit Ganga Arti at Har ki Pauri in Haridwar. Overnight at Rishikesh.
Today after breakfast drive to Joshimath and check-in your hotel. Joshimath is the winter seat of Lord Badri, whose idol is brought down from Badrinath temple to Vasudeva temple at Joshimath. In the evening visit Adi Shankaracharya Monastery and other temples, dedicated to Narsimha, Ganesha, Gaurishankar, Surya etc. Overnight at Joshimath.
Check out from Joshimath hotel and proceed to cable car station. Please note cable car starting time and end times clearly so that you can not miss your cable car.
