Munnar is a a beautiful hill station in Kerala at a distance of 4 hours drive from Cochin airport. Known for its lush green tea gardens, cool and crisp mountain air, and verdant valleys.
Exploring intricate backwater canals and the vast expanse of Lake Vembanad by a houseboat is a very unique experience in Kerala. There are various types of houseboats in Kerala depending upon the luxury it offers.
We do not recommend standard houseboats where safety during the night could be a cause of concern. These houseboats are anchored in a group of 5-10 houseboats, generally in a remote location. These standard houseboats do not have an AC dining area and eating in a non-ac dining area especially at night is not a comfortable experience as lights in the dining area attract a lot of flies and crickets at night. Standard houseboats operate ACs only during the night time which may also result in uncomfortable experience to our guest.
We therefore recommed high quality luxury houseboats where quality of service is top notch and there are no safety concerns. They have AC during the full time of your stay and have professional staff and luxurious ambiance and safety.

Arrive at Cochin airport / station. Our representative shall welcome you and then proceed to Munnar by Pvt vehicle. Pass through green forests and valleys and arrive at Munnar after 4-5 hours of journey. Day is free to relax and enjoy fresh mountain air.
Today proceed to Munnar sightseeing by Pvt Vehicle. Visit Mattupetty dam Eco point. There will be a photo stop at tea garden. Also visit Tea museum to understand tea making process. If time permits visit Eravikulam National park to spot rare specie of western ghat Tahr. Evening spend time in Munnar town for shopping and return to hotel.
After breakfast check out and proceed to Thekkady. En-route visit beautiful valley of Devikumalam and then you may opt to visit spice plantation to understand how do we get daily spices from. Arrive at Thekkady and check in after 14:00 hrs. After noon you may opt to visit Elephant camp to enjoy Elephant ride or bathing with Elephant. Evening spend time in local market for shopping of spices and oils. You may opt for Kalaripayattu or Kathakkali show in the evening.
Today enjoy various activities at Thekkady. Visit the Elephant camp and enjoy various activities with elephants on a direct payment basis. You may opt for an elephant ride, bathing with an elephant or just take photos with elephants. You also can enjoy a lake cruise on lake Periyar to spot the wild life of Thekkady forest. Evening spend time in main town for shopping. Overnight at Thekkady.
Today proceed to Kumarakom which is approx 150 kms away. From rolling hills you shall descent to the land of backwaters, intricate network of canals and lakes. Kumarakom is small village located on the banks for Lake Vembanad. Check in and relax in these lake resorts. After noon proceed for boat ride on backwater canals on direct payment basis. Enjoy coastal beauty of Kerala with its canals, coconut groves, paddy fields and local fishermans villages. Overnight at lake resort in Kumarakom.
Today after breakfast check out from Kumarakom resort and proceed to a Houseboat anchored along the backwater canal. Check-in time 13.00 hrs and you shall be served lunch upon arrival. The houseboat will start cruising and you shall explore backwaters and Vembanad lake from the comfort of your houseboat. The boat will be anchored at 18.00hrs and dinner will be served in the evening. Overnight at Houseboat.
Wake up early morning to enjoy scenic views of the sunrise. Views of the lake and the canals, green paddy fields, and local fishermen preparing for their days work will mesmerize you. After breakfast check out by 8.30 hrs and proceed to Cochin city. Say goodbye to Kerala and board a flight. Your tour ends with great memories to cherish.
